UNIOSUN GETS A NEW LIBRARIAN

librarianFollowing the approval of the Council, Osun State University now has a new University Librarian. He is Mr Ajibola Maxwell Oyinloye. Mr. Oyinloye has taken over from Dr Michael Adebayo Olaosun, the former Acting University Librarian with effect from 1st August, 2013.

While handing over, Dr. Olaosun welcomed Mr. Oyinloye to the University and said that the library system, through his effort, had really helped the University in its accreditation processes. He urged the new Librarian to ensure coordination of all the libraries in all the campuses.

The new University Librarian described Dr. Olaosun as receptive, understanding and fatherly. He urged him to share his wealth of experience by writing on key areas like tropical library architecture, setting up of a library, mentorship and the likes.

The University Librarian is the Academic and Professional Head of the University Library and is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administration and management of the University Library and the College as well as Departmental Libraries. By virtue of his position, he is a Principal Officer of the University.
